Started doing New Years this way last year and seems to be the 'thing' to do. Kids say, "it's the best new years EVER." This is high praise so we brought the New Year in with a bang again this year and did a different activity each hour! Our mantra this year...ENJOY LIFE!!
Lucas was so excited for his birthday party this year, even more then his actual birthday day. This was the first year he had a big friends party like his big brother and sister. He has been into cars and racing a lot, and what boy isn't. He pretty much carries a hot wheels with him wherever he goes. I didn't get to take a ton of pictures during the action of the party because well I was hosting the activities. We did all things hot wheels... I found a racing jumpsuit for Lucas at Party City, so he was able to look the race car driver part. Everyone got to pick there own race car to race and then take home with them. They also got little race helmets to look the part like Lucas. Who doesn't like to be in charge and decorate their own race car and license plate? Even some of the adults got in on it. Once everyone arrived at the party, and was ready to start having fun, we used Oreo's as wheels and asked the kids to stack their wheels as high as they could without tipping. Most the kids got into it, some just ate the cookies. The record was set by D at 26 wheels high! The hot wheels racing was our main event! Huge shout out to my dad{aka grandpa} who constructed the whole track! It worked phenomenal. We had a little harder time judging who came in first, second, third, and forth. Once we figured that out our computer tech{Kris aka Dad} input everything in a spreadsheet and wham we knew the winners after multiple heats! Lucas and his friend Max had a ton of fun watching and cheering on all the races, some of the girls not so much. Surprisingly, Kourtney's car won overall even though she was napping most of the party and barely picked out her own car. While the racing was going on we had a pit stop play area and play-doh area set up for those that didn't want to watch ALL the races. We wrapped up the party with cupcakes and snacks. I forgot to take a picture of the full snack pit stop but we had chips, popcorn, fruit snack, and drinks. It was fun to try and watch the adults get the drinks out of the childproof gas cans. That was unintentional but did give us a little laugh! Lucas had a fantastic time with all his friends and family! In the end he got a little too into the present opening!
