Can you tell fall is my favorite time of year! You can feel winter coming but can still feel that summer breeze trying to hold on.
Going to the Apple Orchard is something I want to do every year but hasn't always been accessible in many of the places we have lived. This year I had to put a stop to that. It is so fun to run through the orchard trying to find the best apples and trying all the different kinds. Who knew you could practically get sick off of eating something that is good for you...
The kids got to run through the hay maze trying to lose each other and got to ride the Honeycrisp Express together. We stomped through the orchard getting as many apples as we could. I think the kids ate equal to what we actually took home. They even started a game of apple soccer. Guess you can take the ball away from the kid but a true player can find a ball in anything! All the kids joined in...not sure how much some of the other patrons of the orchard may have liked it. Kids end up looking after they leap in many cases around here.
We ended the day eating every apple product the orchard makes...apple brats, apple hot dogs, apple donuts, apple/maple popcorn, and a glass or two of wine! We pulled up a picnic table and were able to watch as a bunch of hot air balloons inflated and took off over the vineyard and orchard trees.
It was a gorgeous day out and one of the best things as a parent to fill your child with smiles and laughter!
