They were learning about apples the whole week leading up to the field trip so he had done numerous activities involving the color of apples, the feel of apples, the shape of apples...
So in his words he was "super duperdy duuuuuperdy excited!" He even was able to be in a group with his new best bud Max.
We learned that there were 4,000 trees at the apple farm, that they are a special kind of dwarf tree that grows shorter so you can reach the apples, that they bring in bees to pollinate the buds, about the apple pickers and their special baskets.....zzzzzzzzz
At this point the kids were beyond tired about hearing about things preschoolers really don't care about, plus they had been sitting already for a half hour. Which in toddler time that means about forever. They got to take a hayride through the apple orchard, see the petting zoo, and had a few seconds to play on the slides before heading back to the buses.
All in all Lucas was a little disappointed but at the end they got apple donuts for snack so what was quickly turning into a sad day for Lucas turned into "the best field trip ever!" Plus Mom bought extra apple donuts, which didn't hurt;P
